If you have PTSD, you will experience this heightened sense of danger, where your fight or flight response gets altered. You will episodically undergo bouts of stress and fear, even when you are in a safe environment. While PTSD was first labeled as a war-exclusive disease, we currently know that it can affect anyone at any age.

How can I help patients with PTSD Treatment

To help patients with PTSD, I use several therapeutic approaches that were proven by science to be effective. Clearly, not every technique works for everyone; for this reason, we need to cooperate to come up with the most effective approach for you.

Psychotherapy is an integral tool that I use to treat PTSD. It will help you identify trigger factors and manage symptoms and fears.

The first step involves listening to your story and why you think you’re experiencing these symptoms. Every person is a unique entity; therefore, the first session will be you-focused to understand the depth and underlying mechanisms of your suffering.

We will then proceed to outline a plan with a set of goals. One of the goals would be changing how you feel right now and planning how you want to feel.

In order to succeed in the treatment of trauma and PTSD I use a combination of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and EMDR.  The combination of strategic, solution focused therapy with deeper interventions bring the best results in my practice.

Some of the most common treatments for PTSD include:

EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)– CBT is a therapy that helps people change how they think about and cope with their symptoms.

Medication– Some medications can help treat PTSD, such as antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications.

Support Groups– support groups can be a helpful way to connect with others who have been through a traumatic experience and dealing with mental health issues.

Psychotherapy – also known as “talk therapy.” It is a type of therapy that involves talking to a therapist about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Psychotherapy can help you to understand your condition and develop healthy coping strategies.
